CHUCK MORABITO

HEAD COACH

Chuck Morabito, a lifelong hockey enthusiast from Rochester, NY, has dedicated 30 years to coaching the game he loves. His passion for hockey and commitment to player development have led him to coach both boys and girls at the Rec, A, AA, and AAA levels, as well as high school for 10 years up north.

Chuck Morabito played travel, junior, and college hockey, earning two professional tryout (PTO) opportunities in the minors. He achieved a Level 5 coaching certification, demonstrating his dedication to the sport. Unfortunately, a series of knee injuries ended his playing career, but his passion for hockey continued through coaching and player development.

Wanting to give back to the sport, he was actively involved with the Tampa Bay Lightning Alumni in the Learn to Play program for four years, helping young players develop their skills and passion for the game. For the past seven years, he has been coaching the Florida Alliance 14U AA Girls team, where he takes pride in mentoring young athletes and fostering their growth both on and off the ice. Chuck resides in Port Charlotte with his wife, Kristen, and their two beloved labs, Miss Nellie and Thunder.

DEVON YOUNG

ASSISTANT COACH

Coach Devon Young was born in Southeast Pennsylvania, where her athletic journey began with figure skating. Shortly after mastering the ice, she discovered hockey at the age of six, inspired to play alongside her twin brother. Growing up, she attended a small private school equipped with an on-campus rink, allowing her to skate during elementary physical education classes in the winter and represent the school’s hockey team in middle school. Her early years were marked by a blend of coed and all-girls teams, fostering her passion and skill in the sport.

In 10th grade, Devon enrolled at Cushing Academy in Massachusetts, where she honed not only her physical abilities but also her mental toughness and work ethic—attributes she learned were just as vital as the game itself. Blessed with exceptional coaches and mentors, she thrived under their guidance. She later committed to the University of New England to continue her hockey career, but a severe concussion before the season derailed her plans. She made the difficult decision to step away from playing and transferred to The University of Tampa, seeking a warmer climate. There, she took a brief hiatus from hockey but soon felt the pull to return. She reentered the sport through adult leagues, which sparked her transition into coaching. Over the past five seasons in Tampa, Devon has risen to a Level 4 coach, dedicating herself to mentoring young girls in the game she loves. Beyond technical skills, she emphasizes nutrition, pre- and post-game preparation, and fostering strong, healthy, well-rounded athletes.

BOB WILSON

ASSISTANT COACH

Bob grew up in southwestern Ontario, Canada, playing hockey since age eight, and still loves the game today—both as a player and a coach. Bob’s journey took him through AAA and Junior hockey in Ontario, with a highlight being the North American Silver Stick Finals championship win in Port Huron, MI, as a Bantam.

He’s a USA Hockey Level 4 certified coach and has worked with boys’ and girls’ teams at 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U. Bob’s coaching experience includes Assistant Coach of the Colorado Select Girls Hockey 10U team (2019), Head Coach of the same program (2020), and has now been an Assistant Coach with the Florida Alliance 14U AA Tier 2 Girls’ team for the past two seasons.

Coach Bob resides in Tampa, FL with his wife, Katherine, and his daughter, Guilliana, whom he has the privilege of coaching on this amazing team. Bob’s coaching philosophy focuses on teaching foundational skills to prepare players for success at higher levels. Winning is fun, but he measures his success by the growth and readiness of his players. He’s always learning and excited to share his passion for hockey with the next generation.
